This course illustrates the nature ofmathematics as a blend of technique, theory, and applications. The important problemof solving systems of linear equations leads to the algebra ofmatrices, determinants, vector spaces, bases and dimension, linear transformations, and eigenvalues. Numericalmethods of solution are introduced.MATLAB integrates the communication ofmathematics withmathematical (and computer) techniques, visualizations, and applications. (prereq:MA-231)
