The Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE) is introduced in this course by exploring servlets (Java server-side components that complement applets on the client-side). All aspects of servlets are introduced via hands-on programming assignments that exercise the details of how servlets interface with the client by using HypertextMarkup Language (HTML) and Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP).
