Prerequisites: None. This is a required course for the B.S. in Biomedical Science major. This course satisfi es the general education requirement for Critical Reasoning. An introduction to the process of science, its literature, and its opportunities. Lecture portion considers the nature of science through a critical review of its literature - historical and current - to provide context for how science is undertaken and reported. Seminar portion provides exposure to breaking news and emerging issues in science. Activities may include guest speakers, fi eld trips. Laboratory focus is on critical thought for designing and conducting effective research, using research literature and student-designed projects. (Fall)
