Three Credits LA Dual listed as CSSP 154 A core course which aims to provide a basic appreciation and understanding of the cultures and values of the Spanish-speaking in the United States, especially Mexicans, Puerto Ricans, Cubans, and Central Americans. The customs, modes of thought, and values as seen in the literature, art, and music of these people living in the United States will be studied. An examination of the origins and development of these cultures, which will require studying the mother countries, will be followed by a comparative study with those of other Americans in the United States. No Spanish background is necessary for the student. Taught in English. Offered annually.
