Three Credits LA This course covers the principles and techniques of human communication, with an emphasis on those skills useful to persons planning to enter the helping professions. In addition to discussions of theory, students will practice methods of self-disclosure, active listening, confrontation, conflict resolution, and values clarification. Opportunities for students to investigate related topics such as family and marital communication process, nonverbal communication, transactional analysis, and constructive patterns of communication in work settings. Offered in the Winter Intersession. Prerequisite: PSYC 101
