Three Credits LA This course focuses on an historical view of the unique development of music in America from the 17th century to the present. Study will include music from the Revolutionary and Civil Wars, folk music, major American composers, minstrelsy, the origin of ragtime and musicals, as well as an examination of contemporary issues. Previous musical study or experience recommended. Offered when there is sufficient student interest.
