Three Credits LA The Opera is studied from an historical vantage point. Beginning with the Medieval and Renaissance roots of this art form, the course proceeds through the Baroque and Classical periods to the Romantic and post-Romantic styles of the 19th and early 20th centuries. The course will also touch on the role of opera as a social revolutionary and political force. Offered every other spring.
