Three Credits LA This course is an in-depth study of the design and implementation of client/server data-management systems in business. Students will study data modeling (the relational and object-oriented data models), database query languages, multiuser database concerns such as concurrency control and recovery, and organizational issues (for example, database security and database administration) that arise in a database environment. The course has a significant hands-on component, including a database design and implementation project using client/server database application development software. Offered every semester.
