It emphasizes modern political ideologies and the history of everyday life while surveying the tensions that accompanied the industrialization of Europe. Topics include the French Revolution, the Napoleonic Wars, liberalism, nationalism, imperialism, the world wars, communism, fascism, and the Cold War. Prerequisite: HIST 101
