Three Credits LA This course will provide students with an overview of the experiences of a variety of American ethnic and cultural groups. Students will become familiar with the ideologies of racism and nativism in American society from an historical perspective. Additionally, the course will concern itself with changing interpretations of the patterns of assimilation and acculturation in American life and with an assessment of race and nationality in contemporary American life. Offered biennially. Prerequisite: Six credits in history
