From Tass, de Vega, Molière through Ibsen, Chekhov, Strindberg, Brecht, Pirandello, Ionesco. From classicism and commedia dell'art e through realism, expressionism, epics, and the absurd. Nonwestern developments as well. Offered every two years. (Fulfills the Genre requirement for English Literature majors.)
