Twelve Credits Students serve a full-time supervised internship five days weekly in a local school. Eight weeks of the semester are spent in regular elementary classrooms and eight weeks in special-education classrooms or resource classrooms. Biweekly seminars examine and analyze the interrelationships of teacher, children, and curricula as reflected in the classroom learning environment as well as explore various topics (e.g., reflective teaching, child abuse, health and safety education, violence prevention). Offered fall and spring. Permission is required. Open only to seniors who have completed the prerequisites. Prerequisites: 300-level methods courses in the professional sequence
