Three Credits LA This course will examine the structure and function of art museums, house museums, art galleries, and art centers as well as related institutions in the fields of historic preservation, conservation, and folk culture. The history and development of museums as educational institutions in modern times will be studied in the broader context of collecting, maintaining, exhibiting, and interpreting works of art. The relationship between the museum and the public as well as the policies and programs of funding art institutions will also be discussed. Offered biennially. (Fulfills the Core/LS requirement for Fine Arts.)
