Three Credits LA This course will introduce the student to traditional and contemporary approaches to art criticism. Historical foundations of critical analysis will be explored, as well as contemporary models for the justification of aesthetic judgments. Broader humanistic concerns and values issues will be addressed by the application of models reflecting the social, historical, political, and psychological nature of art. The course will provide the student with the opportunity to develop an independent research project. Offered every spring.
