This course views crime from the victim's perspective. Various types of victimization are dis-cussed along with an analysis of the putative victim. The legal rights of the victim and the vic-tim's relationship with the criminal justice system are explored through first person accounts and current legislation. The student leaves this course with an in-depth understanding of what it means to be a true victim, as well as the criminal justice systems responsibility to that victim. Prerequisite: SOC 101, CJ 110, or consent of the instructor
