3 cr. 3 hrs. The course introduces teacher candidates to the assessment process, describes a comprehensive evaluation and discusses mandatory assessment regulations. The topics of descriptive statistics, reliability and validity, and norm/criterion-referenced assessments are addressed. Various types of assessment are reviewed and discussed. The focus is on interpreting test results and using assessment data to write Individual Educational Programs. Taken in conjunction with Student Teaching (Practicum). Prerequisite: SPED 3550.
