3 cr. 3 hr. This is the second course in a two-semester survey on the history of theater, from late renaissance to the present. This course examines restoration drama and works of such playwrights as Ibsen, Brecht and Beckett, among others, discovering how they were products of their times and how their work contributed to shaping those times.
