This course will consist of a series of talks given by members of the Applied Mathematics community (either in academia or industry) demonstrating an application of applied mathematics with preparatory and follow-up work. The goal of the course is to present students with real-world applications of mathematics and pique their interests. It will introduce students to possible areas of study and the mathematics used in the talks. They are also introduced to background mathematics that will be used in the talks, which will give them motivation for a thorough grounding in mathematics. Prerequisites: MATH 1300, 2300 (co-requisite)
