3 cr. 3 hr. This course examines administrative functions and their relationship to organizational effectiveness and efficiency. The internal and external politics of agency survival are addressed, and theoretical concepts of management and leadership styles are explored. Lectures and class discussion are supplemented by panel discussions by practicing professionals, field-based classes, and current journal research. A supervised practicum (20 hours) in an agency is required. Prerequisite: HMSV 1100
