3 cr. 3 hr. The course combines the theoretical and practical aspects of strength training and conditioning. Topics covered include exercise and fitness-related principles and practices of physiology, neuromotor control, biochemistry, anatomy, biomechanics and endocrinology. The development of state-of-the-art, safe and effective strength and cardiorespiratory endurance training programs are presented. This course is offered to all Fitchburg State College students who have taken BIOL 1200 and BIOL 1300. However, some sections are designated for EXSS majors only. These sections carry a prerequisite of EXSS 2070.
