4 cr. 4 hr. This is an in-depth study of human physiological principles as applied to physical activity and sport. The focus will be on acute and chronic responses to exercise from various perspectives. Students will study topics concerned with bioenergetics during exercise, including substrate utilization, oxygen use, anaerobic threshold, chemo mechanical coupling, electrolyte imbalance and hormonal control of metabolism. Q Prerequisites: EXSS 2070, CHEM 1100.
