3 cr. 3 hr. This course provides practice and research in alternatives for teaching reading and writing in middle and secondary schools. Different approaches are explored through experiments for the teacher and opportunities to test these approaches are available in pre-practicum experiences. A pre-practicum is required. Prerequisite: BIOL 2860, or HIST 2860, or MATH 2860, or SCED 2860 or SEED.
