3 cr. 3 hr. This class explores the mechanics of editing, issues of attribution, use of sources, balanced coverage and libel laws. In addition, the relationship between editor and writer with reference to agents, the submission and selection process, and collaborating are explored. Students also gain an understanding of writing for special markets, such as education or medicine.
