			3 cr. 3 hrs. This course explores the ways in which researchers use data analysis in criminal justice research. The course focuses on methods of analyzing crime, using secondary data such as the Uniform Crime Reports, National Crime Victimization Surveys, NIBRS and other frequently-used datasets. The student is introduced to computer software packages, such as SPSS, to analyze data. Students will evaluate critically several studies, including their design, analysis of data and conclusions.
