3 cr. 3 hr. This course introduces the student to computer information science and its applications. The student develops literacy in the computer and its uses. The laboratory work includes an introduction to word processing, spreadsheets databases, and the fundamentals of programming with BASIC. No previous knowledge of computers is required or presumed. Credit is not awarded for both BSAD 1700, Introduction to Computer Information Systems for Business and CSC 1100 Computer Applications.
