3 Credits This course will cover fundamental aspects of immunology including mechanisms of antibopdy-mediated and cell-mediated immunity. Topics will include the anatomy of the immune system, the role and function of T and B cells, MHC restriction and antigen presentation, the structure and genetics of antibody and T cell receptor molecules and regulation of immune responses. Applications of immunology to infectious disease and cancer as well as clinical syndromes resulting from loss of immune function will also be discussed. Prerequisite: BIO 315
