3 Credits A laboratory based introduction to bacteria, viruses, protozoa, fungi, and invertebrates with a particular emphasis on their relation to human disease. Laboratory sessions emphasize aseptic technique and the metabolic requirements of microorganisms. In addition, students are introduced to the latest technological approaches to identifying pathogens.
