3 Credits This course builds on the student's previous knowledge of child development by focusing on factors that affect the early development of young children. Emphasis will be placed on current research in the areas of brain development, language development, family and home environment, health and nutrition, as well as on moral development and faith nurturing. Students will also acquire skill in crisis management for young children and families and become familiar with social agencies that support children and families.
