This course focuses on the basic design, publishing and implementation of Web pages and how they can be utilized for business through effective and efficient means. Fundamentals of HTML 4.0 are the major learning objectives. Topics also include the Internet and its history, effective and efficient Web design, the use of search engines, and characteristics of current Web browsers. In addition, students will be introduced to the concept of Web publishing. HTML hand-coding is emphasized in this class. This is the first course in the Web Development Emphasis of the Master of Science in Computer Systems and the first course in the Graduate Certificate in Web Development. It provides fundamental knowledge of HTML 4.0 and as well as Web development design and strategy.
