An examination of ethical issues and problems that affect the criminal justice system. This course will explore the nature of morality and ethics, review key ethical theories, evaluate the relationship between law and ethics, and consider the role of the criminal justice system in fostering ethical behavior. Ethical dilemmas that face law enforcement officers, attorneys and judges, and correctional personnel in their daily work lives will be examined and discussed. Prerequisite: Senior standing or consent of instructor. Spring, odd years.
