BIO 1320 - Tropical Diversity

Institution:
Castleton State College (7.1.2023 merged into Vermont State University)
Subject:
Description:
In this course we will delve into the variety and interdependence of all living things on earth. In doing so, we will focus on the flora and fauna of St. John (U.S.V.I.) particularly the patch reefs that surround the island and comprise one the world's few Marine Reserves. Although this island remains approximately three-fifths national park and contains an incredibly rich biodiversity, St. John faces many of the challenges that threaten life's variety throughout the tropics and beyond. Our semester's investigation will culminate with a week-long trip to St. John for first hand experience in tropical biodiversity. Fee approximately $1,300. Spring, odd years
