These courses provide instruction and participation in equestrian activities.Most riding courses involve approximately 90 minutes per week of mounted activity.Students majoring in Equestrian Studies are expected to provide their own equipment.An additional course fee is required for each of these courses. (Activity courses: CR/NCR only. Exception: courses taken to fulfill requirements for a major in Equestrian Studies must be taken as one-credit academic courses for letter grades.PHED 180-196 may be repeated for credit.) Students in the course spend two to four hours per week developing skills as a riding instructor by working with student-learners monitored by a coach.The course includes preparation for ARIA certification. (This course may not be repeated for credit.)
