Fundamentals of correctional practices and philosophy, historically and systematically studied including law, sentencing, and appellate review as each relates to the correctional process. Survey of correctional components: community-based programs, institutions, administration, offender categories, classification, and treatment. Pre-requisite: A major in Criminal Justice and CJ 200 or approval of department head.
