P: BUSB-A 511. Statistical applications is a graduate-level one-semester survey of major statistical techniques used in business and economics. The course has three primary objectives; (1) to familiarize students with the basic techniques, methodologies, and theories of statistical analysis; (2) to acquaint students with the various applications of statistical analysis to business problems; and (3) to impress upon students the role that computers and specialized software play in statistical analysis. Students achieve these objectives through class lectures, cases, hands-on group and individual projects, and a wide variety of problems which are worked in class and on examinations.
