This course offers an examination of the legal, procedural, sociological, psychological, and economic effects experienced by people who fall victim to crime. The course focuses on an analysis of the patterns, trends, and categories of crime victims. Students will critically assess victim-blaming arguments, such as victim provocation, facilitation, and precipitation, as well as the Criminal Justice system's procedures, treatment, and resources for victims of crime.
