Beach In this combined lecture/laboratory course we explore the science behind such issues as human cloning, genetic testing, gene therapy, forensic DNA evidence, and genetically modified foods. Students gain an understanding of how the Human Genome Project may impact their lives and get a hands-on introduction to the laboratory analyses used in these studies. Not intended for students majoring in biology. Open to first-year students. No prerequisite. Not offered in 2008-09. (SCI)
