Nolan A seminar that explores the luminous paintings of northern European artists from the Limbourg Brothers through Albrecht Dürer. In addition to thinking about symbolism and devotional function, we also consider the impact of gender, patronage, market, and workshop practice. Prerequisite: ART 262 or ART 263.
