Description:

Hensley, Polseno This beginning level ceramics class explores the techniques of making pots on the wheel. Students learn the sequences necessary to raise a simple lump of clay into a pot and begin to understand the processes of glazing and firing those pots. We discuss aesthetic, historical, and technical issues relating to wheel-thrown pottery and master the vocabulary of pottery terms and concepts. Students need to allow significant work time outside of class. Lab fee required. No prerequisite and may be repeated for credit. Offered both terms. (CRE)
