Principles and practical applications of developmental psychology are emphasized in this study of children and adolescents as they grow in the following major areas: physical, cognitive, language, perceptual-motor, and social-emotional. How environment and biology influence each of the above areas will also be explored. Students will be required to spend two hours per week (20 hours total for the semester) at an area preschool where they will apply, analyze, and evaluate the concepts that they learn in class. Prerequisite: PSY 201. Students cannot receive credit for both PSY 211 and PSY 213. Four hours, four credits.
