Beginning with the prophetic movement in Israel and the place of the prophetic literature in the canon, this course will focus on the individual books of prophecy with regard to their cultural and historical contexts, their unique literary styles, the special circumstances that motivated their authors, and the primary themes of their messages. Prerequisite: REL 111 or 112. Three hours, three credits.
