A systematic critical overview of the development of psychology from its origins in philosophy and natural science through contemporary systems. The course emphasizes enduring issues, leading figures, major theoretical perspectives, and critical research methods and findings which have shaped the discipline, and acquaints participants with the history of psychology as an active research specialty. Prerequisites: PSY 201 and a total of 12 hours of psychology prior to enrollment. Three hours, three credits.
