Develops critical skills in selecting and applying fundamental techniques of counseling. Discussions, demonstrations, and supervised experiences will provide opportunities for students to relate theoretical knowledge to the practical delivery of psychological services. Participants will learn to analyze client needs, to establish effective therapeutic alliances, and to formulate strategies for effective applications of psychological techniques in overcoming client problems. Prerequisites: PSY 201 and either PSY 320 or 340. Three hours, three credits.
