These courses will focus on the study of functions. The students will learn how to build functional models of real world data and the uses and limitations of these models in decision making. During this process they will become familiar with linear, polynomial, exponential, logarithmic, and trigonometric functions. The students will also be introduced to elementary statistics, probability, and such discrete mathematics as a study of matrices. Prerequisite for MTH 111: MTH 100 or high school algebra I and II and geometry. Prerequisite for MTH 112: MTH 103 or 111 or one credit of high school mathematics beyond algebra II. Three hours, three credits.
