This course (Secondary Strategies I) provides students preparing to teach in grades 7 - 12 with instruction in the following topics: developing, planning and implementing instruction; aligning instruction with appropriate State standards (Standards of Learning); the principles of learning; the application of skills in discipline-specific methodology; the selection and use of materials, including media and computers; and evaluation of pupil performance. Students are required to complete a 20 hour internship. Prerequisites: PSY 213, EDU 202, EDU 302, EDU 312, and passing scores on Praxis I. Co-Requisite: EDU 357. Three credits.
