An introduction to the basic elements and principles of painting. Students experience various painting media including oils, acrylic, watercolor, air brush, Alkyd, pastels, collage, and mixed media. The course is designed to develop basic problem-solving skills in painting. Students are exposed to both contemporary and traditional styles of painting through class demonstrations, slides, videos, and art exhibits. Prerequisite: ART 101, 104. Six hours, three credits.
