An introductory course in fiber design that explores different fibers, weaves, and finishes. Emphasis will be placed on learning how to weave on and off the loom. Students will work with many different fabric embellishing techniques, including stitchery, sewing, drying, and fabric painting. Students are exposed to both contemporary and traditional styles of fabric design and construction. Prerequisite: ART 101, 104. Six hours, three credits.
