This course is a focused study of a specific Asian religious tradition such as Hinduism, Buddhism or Chinese Religions; or a theme or issue such as an historical period, geographical area, historical person or religious concern in Asian religions. Attention will be given to historical development, sacred texts, contemporary beliefs and practices. The specific topic of inquiry will be indicated by the course subtitle. The course may be repeated for credit with permission of the instructor or department chair.
