Students study contemporary fictional forms (short stories, novellas, and novels) and the elements of fictive craft (e.g., voice, character, setting, scene, dialogue and plot) as sources to inform the writing of literary fiction. Students write, revise and critique fiction in a structured workshop setting, learn about the basics of the publishing industry and attend local literary readings. Prerequisites: 204 with a grade of "B" or better,or permission of instructor.
