An exploration of the written expression of women in France and Francophone countries through the study of representative texts from the Middle Ages to the present, including an examination of issues surrounding the status of women, women as "other," and theposition of woman as author. Taught in French. Prerequisites: Competent listening, speaking, reading, and writing in French, FRNCH 310 or 311, and one other French course on 300- or 400-level, or permission of instructor.
