A calculus-based introduction to the fundamental principles of physics. Topics include: mechanics (linear and rotational kinematics, statics, energy), wave mechanics (harmonic motion, sound) and thermodynamics (thermal properties of matter, gas laws, thermal energy). A laboratory experience is included which utilizes statistical, algebraic and trigonometric (pre-calculus) skills to conduct measurements, analyze data and develop physical understanding. Co-requisite: MATH 225 or 230 or equivalent. Offered fall semester.
